Dear Friends,

It's Play Time again! This is not an official lesson, this is just for fun! However, you should practice this feature and show the results in this group. If you have any question, write to your Mentor directly, she/he is your friend who will help you.

We are going to move things around using the MARQUEE button! You don't need a Jave script for this, a simple Marquee tag does the job. Let's start with a very simple ticker.

• Go to Mokum Mail's Quick Reply / New Message window.
• Type a line of text.
• Hi-light that line.
• Click on the Marquee button and use these settings:
• From top: 0
• From left: 0
• Position: relative
• Z-index: 1
• Movement: Scroll
• Direction: Left
• Amount: 2
• Delay: 50
• Width/Height: 100%
• Transparent: checkmark
• Color Text: set any color
• Back: n/a
• The background color is not applicable because we checkmarked the 'transparent' property.
• ... and click the OK button.

Last night I dreamed I ate a ten-pound marshmallow, and when I woke up the pillow was gone.

Now just remove the checkmark from Transparent property and select a background color. The result is:
Never explain -- your friends do not need it and your enemies will not believe you anyway.

You can do the same with a picture, preferably an animated GIF picture.

First put a smiley in your message. Hi-light the whole IMG tag from the 'smaller than' character to the 'greater than' character and click on the Marquee button. Set the right direction. Checkmark Transparent, colors are n/a for a picture. And then you get this:

You can also have a Marquee go up/down and you can put a marquee IN a marquee to combine horizontal and vertical movement. How to do that will be explained in the next episode of... 'Shake, Rattle and Roll'..!!
