Floccinaucinihilipilification...
by Joop Blokker

A word is a senseless sequence of letters as long as I don't understand the meaning. Even in my native language, which is Dutch, some words or expressions make me shake my head in disbelief: 'That word can not exist'... and often I am wrong... The word is okay, I just never read it before.

Although my English is sufficient to order a beer in California, now and then I read something in an e-mail that I really don't understand. And when I start guessing it's meaning, I often get into deep trouble. Once I read: " I'm in awe! " and I wondered for weeks what terrible disease that might be...

Fortunately there is WordWeb. It's not an English-Dutch dictionary but that's not what I really need. The beauty of WordWeb is that it EXPLAINS the meaning of a word, it shows synonyms (and more!) and it's a program I really don't want to live without.

WordWeb is a quick and powerful international English thesaurus and dictionary for Windows. It can be used to look up words from almost any program, showing definitions, synonyms and related words. It includes pronunciations and usage examples, and has helpful spelling and 'sounds-like' links. WordWeb is developed by Antony Lewis, and is available as a powerful Pro version (for only 29 bucks!) and as an abridged but excellent FREE version. The free version is used by millions of people from all over the world, many of whom may not be able to afford a commercial dictionary.

Once WordWeb is started, you can press the Ctrl button and RIGHT-click on a word in Mokum Mail's Editor, Browser or any other program and there you have the information you need.

And what does the (with 29 letters longest non-technical word in the first edition of the Oxford English Dictionary) word Floccinaucinihilipilification mean..? Have a look at the screen shot... and then click here: http://www.wordweb.info to download the FREE version!

No need for crying any more..!

Have you ever been working on a message only to be called away suddenly before getting it sent, or had the gremlins in your PC decide to shut it down for no apparent reason??

And have you ever cursed a bit when you had to re-compose that same message??

If so....then you might want to pay attention to these 2 buttons that you find in Mokie's Editor!

You can "call back" the last message by clicking on this " Duh..!" button. (The left one) This is handy when you have to leave the program before you have finished typing a message.

By clicking on the little arrow (the right button) you can designate how many messages you wish to save in the history for calling back up to the message window.

In this version (5.0) there is no maximum, however to keep the list from getting too long, about 25 - 50 messages for immediate re-use seems to be a reasonable number.

Remember... these features are here so you can avoid those frustrating times!! ;-)
