Mokum Mail Monthly Magazine #22. November 1st, 2008.

W-i-d-e s-c-r-e-e-n monitors.
by Joop Blokker
Many laptops and desktop monitors are widescreen now-a-days which reminds me of the good old Cinemascope movies... Reading E-mails in wide screen mode is more like watching a tennis game and I'm not sure I like it that way...

In Mokum Mail's 'Preferences' you can set the width and height of the MM window smaller than the monitor size. You can choose from a number of preset values, but you also can define the width and height yourself. For this keep clicking on the screen size box until you see the word 'Custom' and click on the little button next to it.
If you set the MM window width smaller than the screen width, a part of the desktop will be visible. This has the advantage that you can start another program while working with Mokum Mail by clicking on a desktop icon. Finally, when you view a message in MM's Browser, pressing Function Key F2 will show the message in full screen. Press F2 once more and MM's window will shrink again.
Take care out there!

Forgotten Feature..?
by Karen Shirron
With everything Mokie has to offer, it is easy to forget some of the features thrown into the program just for fun! I think the G-font feature is one of those...

To access G-fonts (GRAPHIC fonts), we will use this button from your Editor window. You will first need to select some text or perhaps just the first letter of a word, click on the button shown above and then again on the G-fonts selection...

Mokum Mail will open to your G-font folder IF you have G-fonts saved. Each G-font will be in it's own folder. Open any folder and the corresponding number files on the right all represent a certain letter or punctuation mark. Highlight
ANY ONE of them and click the little gray select button to the left of a file name OR the select button at the top right. When a file is highlighted, you can also just hit the Enter key on your keyboard.
This is the result of one that I chose!

When you select a ' Train ' , an ' Airplane ' or the ' Books ' G-Font, you must embed the word(s) in brackets. E.g. (Happy Birthday!)
For the train G-Font, the
" ( " file contains the locomotive and the
" ) " contains the caboose.
NOTE: It is NOT advised to do a whole message with G-fonts! Each letter is a graphic so the end result could be a huge message! A couple words, a short greeting, or using as the first letter in a word is the best way to use these.

As I sat in my office in Alabama enjoying the cooler autumn weather and looking forward to winter, it occurred to me that there are Mokie users out there who are currently enjoying the warmer weather of spring and looking forward to their summer! The variety of people around the world who have found Mokum Mail and love it is astounding! And what is even more astounding is that each registered user, regardless of where you live, or what you do, receives the same care and attention from the developer.

Mokum Mail doesn't only cross international borders, but also generation gaps, cultural barriers, and economic boundaries. Whether you are a 20-something techie or an 80-something grandparent, Mokie appeals to everyone. The 40-something man with many gifts to buy can afford to give Mokie to his parents, his children, his colleagues, and his friends!
