In photography, a lightbox has several applications. One is a container with several lightbulbs and a pane of frosted glass on the top. It is used by photography professionals to view translucent films, such as slides.

I want to give you another sneak peek of something new you will find in the next official version 8.0, due on October 1st. With a few clicks you can create a Lightbox script, just click on this button to see what it is.

Isn't that a special and pretty effect? Creating the script is a breeze. Just select a picture, set the size and colors of the border and the padding and the program writes the code for you.

Because the complete code is placed in MM's Editor, you will be able to see 'how it's done' and you can change parameters in the script to get different effects. In this way you will get an idea of what you can do with HTML, fast and easy...

But there is more... after you create the script, you can export the .HTM file and all pictures as a WEB page for your hobby or your business. I created and uploaded a simple page in less than three minutes, have a look...

Now I'd better continue with writing the 'Help' and describe all the new goodees that you will find in the next version of Mokum Mail, it will be October 1st before we know it!

Summer is here... and with it we find ourselves often enjoying the weather or activities outside. Many of us have our computers running anyway, right? I am also quite sure that everyone has favorite charities they contribute time or money to throughout the year. Why not get involved with the World Community Grid too?? This won't cost you a cent, but will help with so many causes!

OUR Mokum Mail Team is close to hitting 2 million points and that is exciting news! But more important is the personal feeling one gets in knowing that in some small way, you are helping. The newest project launched was in May 2009... Phase 2 - Help Cure Muscular Dystrophy. I love to think that in some way my computer is doing it's part to help a very dear friend.

How Grid Technology Works:
Making a difference has never been easier! Grid technology is simple and safe to use. To start, you register, then download and install a small program or "agent" onto your computer. And then be sure to join OUR Mokum Mail team!!

When idle, your computer will request data on a specific project from World Community Grid's server. It will then perform computations on this data, send the results back to the server, and ask the server for a new piece of work. Each computation that your computer performs provides scientists with critical information that accelerates the pace of research!

Even if you are still on Dial-Up, you can participate. When you ARE online, the Grid will upload finished projects or download new ones; then while your computer is merely turned on, it will do it's work. Believe me, you will not even know it's working, BUT what fun to check your own stats to see what it has accomplished!
