New in v7.0
Listed below are new features and enhancements made in Mokum Mail from v6.0 to v7.0!EDITOR WINDOW:· Text SMILEYS. As always, you can insert a smiley in your message text by clicking on the SMILEY button. Now you can also type a text smiley like this one :-) These text smileys will be automatically turned into graphic animated smileys.EXCEPTIONS: Text smileys will not be changed to graphic smileys if...1. the text smiley is inside a complete HTML message.2. the Theme "Plain Text" is used.3. when text smileys are in a CODE - /CODE block.· Now you can use a ready-made .MMF or .HTM file for a reply. First click REPLY or press F3. You will see the editor window with the original text in a QUOTE - UNQUOTE block. Click on the SCRIPT button and select an .MMF or .HTM file. Because the selected file may contain scripts, QUOTE and UNQUOTE are replaced by BLOCKQUOTE tags. A loaded .HTM or .MMF file MUST contain the words YOUR TEXT HERE. These words will be replaced by the text of the original message. If the Editor text window is empty, any .HTM file can be loaded, even if the file does not contain YOUR TEXT HERE. This is for ready-made e-mail invitations and so on.· EXPORT button: Create Web Page. In the Export Menu, an item "Create WEB Page" is added. This will create an .HTM file and copy (not move) all pictures and music files to the same folder as where you choose to store the .HTM file. You can upload the .HTM file and all the other files to a folder at a web site.Because the pictures and music files are in the same folder as the .HTM file, the links in the .HTM file to these files state only the "bare" file name. NO drive:\path may be prefixed. An example:1. Go to MM's editor.2. Pick a pretty Theme.3. Type some words e.g. "Hello World!"4. Click on the EXPORT button.5. Click on Create WEB Page.6. Create or select an empty folder.7. Say OK to the proposed INDEX.HTM file name.8. Done.--------------------9. Exit Mokie Mail.10. Go to that folder.11. you see INDEX.HTM and all pictures12. Run the INDEX.HTM to see if it works13. Now open the INDEX.HTM file with Notepad.14. Have a look at the filenames at background="......" and src="......"15. See, bare file names there. No drive letter, no path.--------------------16. Upload the files to your website in a new folder e.g. \Test\17. start IE and type: http://www.yoursitename.com/test/18. ...and you should see the message. The point is: in a .HTM file on a web page, file names must NOT have drive:\path in front. E.g. C:\MyPics\Monkey.JPG may work fine on your PC, but there is NO drive:\folder "C:\MyPics\" at the WEB server.· TABLE WIZARD: Create Web Page. Just like in the EXPORT menu, the option "Create WEB Page" is added. This will create an .HTM file and copy (not move) all pictures and music files to the same folder as where you choose to store the .HTM file. You can upload the .HTM file and all the other files to a folder at a web site.· Automatic V-Card. If the recipient's e-mail address contains "@yahoogroops.com" then a (fake) V-Card is added automatically at the end of the message. This is done to suppress Yahoo ads as much as possible.· RUN Button. See the description of the RUN button in the main window.· Conversion Button. We added the button 'Calculator' to the Conversion window. This may come in handy now and then...·In the Pictures/Music file list you see this new button: "Jump To Folder". When you click on it you will see a list, up to 10, of the folders which you have selected most frequently. One click lets you jump to a selected folder. The system is self-learning: the folders with highest usage frequency will always be in that list.
You will find the same "Jump To Folder" button in the INBOXES. This is a real time saver!
MAIN WINDOW:·In MM's Main Window, you see a new 'F' column. Clicking in this column enables you to FLAG any message header. You can select from different colors. When you click on the '?', you will be able to enter/edit the description of each flag. Once the message is downloaded, the flag will be shown in the INBOX folders.
· RUN Button. The "MMF" button - that merely showed the MMF page at the Mokum Mail site - is changed to "RUN", which gives you many more ways to view an internet site, start a program or link to a file that starts the associated program. "RUN" commands are automatically added to the "RUN" list.Examples:http://www.AnySite.com - starts Internet Explorer and shows that site.E.g. http://www.Google.com is a fast way to look something up or grab a picture from Google.C:\Program Files\PSP9\PSP.exe - starts Paint Shop Pro.C:\Program Files\PSP9\PSP.exe "C:\Pics\MyPic.jpg" - starts Paint Shop Pro and immediately loads the image file MyPic.jpg. Note: the picture file name is in double quotes!C:\BookKeeping\sales_2008.xls - starts Microsoft Excel and loads that .XLS spreadsheet file.By default you will also find links to the Mokum Mail site in that list.· CHECK button. if the CHECK button is clicked and no server is set to 'Active', the first server will be forced to 'Active'. This is to prevent the error message 'No Server is set to Active', which confused first-time users.
PLAIN TEXT PREVIEW WINDOW:· Saving a message to disk: The way to save a message from the plain text window has changed. Now a folder can be selected and then the Subject Line can be changed before saving the message to disk.· Change subject: You can change the Subject of messages already stored in MM's INBOX. You can also move a message to a different folder AND at the same time change the subject.
ADDRESS BOOK:
The "Your Signature" field options can now contain:
· one or more typed names, separated by a semi-colon ( ; )
· the name(s) of a signature picture file, e.g. an (animated) .GIF image.
· the name of a .TXT text file containing a script that shows your name using a handwriting font, see the example file in the folder ..\MM_Data\MM_SigFiles\yourname.TXT
In this way you can add a 'real' signature to your message like this:
